Transitive and Intransitive Verbs

Personal info:
Review
A transitive verb is one that is used with an object: a noun, phrase, or pronoun that refers to the person or thing that is affected by the action of the verb.

Example: "The girl felt the cloth." Notice that "felt" in that sentence described directly what the noun (girl) was doing to the cloth (direct object).

An intransitive verb is simply defined as a verb that does not affect a direct object.
Example: "The girl felt sad." Notice that this time that "felt" is NOT describing what is happening a noun, but instead showed her state of feeling.

Tip: An easy way to tell if a verb is transitive/intransitive is to see if there is a noun right
after the verb, if there IS, it's transitive, if there ISN'T, it's intransitive!
